Today I started my journey to become an accredited Yoga teacher (or facilitator is probably a better term, given what we learned today) – to say that I’ve been thrown in the deep end is an understatement – BUT personal growth is fertilized by a bit of chaos, right?
There were three things that stood out for me today -
- Pranayama – “the breath” and the practice of breathing. When you’re breathing great big life inducing belly breaths, it’s almost impossible to retain negative feelings.
- “being present” – allowing myself to be still in the moment without any judgment (ie ‘does my technique suck’?) and to present an open and curious mind.
- Yoga philosophy lecture – discussed the concepts of non-duality and quantum physics which were mind bending, but also pretty interesting.
What about you – have you got three key things that you’re learning about today, fitness related or not – I’d love to hear them!
More tomorrow!

3. Little toes are the most uselessly fragile appendage EVER.
My lessons today were not so good. On the other hand, there is a day off work in my cards….
Hope the course is worth the long hours. And not too new-agey.
I’m so sorry about your foot!
Glad you enjoyed it! How long does it actually take to become a yoga instructor?
What I learned yesterday… was that some habits take longer to change than 21 days!
200 hours! For step one
Yes, I know about those habits all too well xx
